I have been experimenting with long-exposure black and white fine art photography lately and planned to capture this image in that fashion.  The sunset seemed to have other plans as the sun peeked out behind me and lit up Baker’s Island in the distance in a brilliant red.  This was taken as a five minute exposure so the water turned still and the clouds can be seen drifting overhead.  It seemed a shame to mute these colors so I kept them as-is.  I’ll have to come back here another day under more drab conditions.

If you would like to see my long-exposure black and white fine art photography as well as prints from my Rooftop series and a number of other images from this site, please attend my show at the Marblehead Arts Association.  Opening reception takes place Sunday, March 11th from 2-4 pm.
