Yesterday I got my first sunburn of the season (a mild one thankfully) and also realized that the vivid memories of this past Winter’s snow had started to fade.  It’s amazing what a few warm days will do to the human mind and psyche and likely explains why we all continue to live here year after year.  As a former resident of Los Angeles (13 years), I can tell you I wouldn’t have it any other way.

With that being said, the warm days seemed to clear the way to share some images of snow that I had not had a chance to post during the course of the Winter.  At one point, more images of snow seemed to be the very last thing I or anyone else wanted to see and I had pulled up warm images from the archive to share.

This particular image was captured on February 25 during a walk (more accurately trudge) through knee deep snow that blanketed Brown’s Island.  I was showing a photography friend some of the unique spots in Marblehead and we ended up crossing over to Brown’s during the low tide.  The view of a blanket of snow over Marblehead was beautiful to behold on that day – and likely even more so now that warm days have firmly taken root.
