I am starting my year-end Top 10 images countdown today with an honorable mention for a shot that I otherwise would not have selected if not for the significance of the subject matter. This is my best image of the ‘giving tree’ at Fort Sewall in full silhouette before it was struck down by a microburst.

I had gone out on March 20th to capture the moonrise and had taken this shot on my walk back to the car from along Front Street. Little did I know that, within five months, the tree would fall.

For this being my very last image of the majestic tree at the fort, I figured it had to be included as #11 in my top 10 of 2019.
