For anyone who is new to my site and/or Facebook page, I thought I would start with a bit of a recap. I moved to Marblehead with my family in May 2008. In August 2010, I started ‘Wednesdays in Marblehead’ as a project to help me learn more about my new home town. The original plan to was to share new photos once a week. I stuck with that scheduled for the first few months but quickly discovered just how photogenic the Town of Marblehead could be. I started to shoot various themes and set aside certain days to share those specific images. It wasn’t long before I was sharing images every morning at 7am on my Facebook page and by email at 11am to my subscribers.
On January 1, 2011, I debuted a slideshow of every image shared to the website and Facebook page during the past year. This was a way to recap the year and allow those who might have missed a few images to catch up. The response to that video was incredible and I repeated the effort the following year.
This year, I ended up sharing 240 images between January 1st and December 31st. Considering there were 262 weekdays (including holidays), that seems pretty incredible. Those images are set to beautiful music by Mr. Einaudi and span ten minutes.
Grab a cup of coffee, turn up the speakers, and enjoy my annual New Year’s Day slideshow exploring the beauty of Marblehead, MA in 2014
