159 images of Marblehead shared in 365 days
This year I shared 159 images of which only 77 were taken in 2020 – that’s an all time low but, given the difficulties of this part year, I am really proud of each and every one of those. 2020 did allow me to bring many of my ‘to be posted’ images to light and it proved to be a great exercise in revisiting some favorite moments from years past with slightly different light or compositions that made these images ‘near-favorites’ at the time.
What started off as a personal website to explore my new hometown of Marblehead, Massachusetts has taken off in ways I never imagined. When I first created Wednesdays in Marblehead in 2010 and was trying to come up with a name, I figured I would go with my one day off from my real job in the hopes of taking and sharing images once per week. Little did I know that this town would prove so photogenic and that, even after ten years and more than 2,300 photos shared, I still have much left to explore.
Below is a video slideshow of every single image shared on Wednesdays in Marblehead over the past year. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the annual New Years Day slideshow with a look back at 2020 – this year, you can stream the video in 1080p or 4K!
If you aren’t seeing these images shared every weekday morning, consider signing up for my weekly email digest that comes out every Wednesday at 11:00am and includes the last seven days worth of images posted to the website. I occasionally email about sales on prints but the list is otherwise used only to share images. You can also find me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
I was born in Marblehead in 1942 and moved away in 1962. I have visited a few times, buried my father and mother there, and have always remembered growing up in a town where sailing, swimming, skating, sledding, riding bikes and playing every day at Seaside Park filled my childhood days. As a teenager, I used to give tourists tours of the old center of town and taught sailing to kids in Townies. I remember moving the library books from the Old Town hall to the new library with other school children. Your photos have brought back so many memories.
I was disappointed to see that the 2021 calendar is sold out, but I would like to purchase your Ten Years of Wednesdays in Marblehead book. Since these pictures did not come to me over Facebook, but rather in a forwarded email from my brother’s friend, I think I might have to look you up on Google.
Thanks for bringing me such joy at this difficult time for us all!

Enjoyed this page. Although I wasn’t born there I did go to and graduated from MHS. Class 1959. My memories included swimming ( of course) and bike riding especially to Lynn Woods with Karin. I now live in Chandler Arizona with my husband Bob. There are no beaches or woods but lots of sunshine and nice winters!! Laura (Halford ) Sisk .MARBLEHEAD FOREVER
