Another image from Saturday’s Worldwide Photowalk that took us from Abbot Hall down to Fort Sewall and back up Washington Street. As I mentioned in Sunday’s post about the experience, I had decided to shoot everything in these few hours with a single 100mm lens. That was working well for isolating subjects and adding to the Experimental Friday theme. The walk also forced me to slow down and look at areas I had previously passed without notice.
This scene was one that I (and I’m sure many others) passed by previously without a second glance. I’m not sure if it was the fallen leaves of that lamp that grabbed my view initially but this picnic table looked like it was out of a magazine and I tried to capture the look with this image. I opened up the lens to f/2 and focused on the lamp. This served to push the surrounding elements into varying degrees of blur. I then highlighted the light on the table top when processing the image.
