Shadows and Reflections on State Street

  • Long shadows are cast by the late afternoon sun while reflections appear in the windows along State Street

I shared an image of State Street last week looking down toward the water. That image was taken a few minutes after this one taken near the opposite end of State Street and looking back up toward Washington Street.

I had been drawn out of the house by the deep blue sky punctuated by clouds and was thrilled to find them overhead from this spot along State Street. The long shadows helped cut down the shine of the road and drive the eye up toward the houses and sky. I was thrilled to see the light of the windows breaking up the shadows and composed this shot to add a reflection of the scene from a nearby window.
