As I do at the end of each, I have looked back at every one of the 100 images I captured in Marblehead in 2021 and selected my top 10. 2021 served as a ‘comeback’ year from the low of 77 images taken in 2020 to closer to the 150-200 taken each of the past 10 years now. This was also the year where I took up sports photography when my son joined the Marblehead High School JV football team. I captured every one of their games and was able to shoot at a number of the varsity games including every playoff. That also meant sideline passes to the Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium which was an incredible experience and one I won’t soon forgot.
For the thrill of a new photographic outlet, the speed of the game and being in the right place at the right time, Connor Cronin’s ‘The Catch’ is my honorable mention for the Top 10 of 2021.
