After a week of sun and warm temperatures in the Turks and Caicos, my family and I returned to the tail end of a beautiful snowfall and near blizzard conditions yesterday. While the snow from Friday was the perfect consistency to stick to trees and the sunset that followed was amazing, I was several thousand feet up in the air while all that took place. Yesterday’s fluffy snow blew too hard and the light never materialized for an outing.
Instead, I turned to the archive and realized that this image was taken exactly three years ago – February 9, 2013. Another blizzard had passed through Marblehead on this day and I ventured out at 4pm when the travel ban was lifted to explore Washington Street. What I found was a blanket of snow that perfectly covered the streets and sidewalks of historic downtown Marblehead.
