I have been trying to find a good vantage point from which to photograph Abbot Hall on Front Street for some time. The problem has been all of the overhead wires that crisscross that street. Earlier this Spring, with these two trees in full bloom, I finally found the location and managed to capture this view.
A bit of technical information for this one. The image you see is a combination of two photos with focus points that vary between them. I shot the trees in focus first and then quickly switched to Abbot hall. I was shooting with a very long focal length which greatly diminished depth of field. A single image would have shown Abbot as blurry in the background but, by combining the two images in technique called focus stacking, I was able to show what the eye would normally see.
