How about an image from almost exactly three years ago on this Tuesday morning? I had always wondered what was behind the red door at Fort Sewall and wound up finally being able to see the other side of this one two years later when the Fort was open during the annual encampment. Turns out there are some stairs leading down to parts of the Fort that are accessible behind the iron gates seen from the entrance.
After imagining the secrets that lay behind these doors with incredible rust and patina, the answer was a bit of a let down…
