On Sunday, October 5th, I had set out early to capture images of the dawn and then made my way to a few locations in Marblehead showing early (and beautiful) Fall colors.  I shared five images from this one hour photo shoot last week but have a few more in the ‘to be posted’ archive that I really liked.

After parking on Beacon Street and surveying the scene of Little Harbor before me, I was a little disappointed in the clear sky and had little hope for the morning.  I did notice a few subtle clouds high above but did not think they would amount to much in the few minutes remaining until first light.  I was very happy to be proven wrong on this morning.

As the morning light brightened, the clouds did indeed move closer to the horizon and coalesced into this band.  I captured the golden light of dawn from a few vantage points but really liked this one as the clouds can be seen reflecting in the waters of Little Harbor with Brown’s Island on the left and Marblehead Light just visible in this distance.
