I was looking back at my ‘to be posted’ archive last night and stopped at this image from December 9th and the first snow of the season. It’s hard to believe that we were already seeing snow at this time last year given this year’s strange wet fall and cold but dry early winter.
I had gone out at noon on this Saturday to capture the falling snow and ended up at this spot on State Street from which I could compose an image to capture the star on the crane (hard to see with it not being illuminated yet). The lone lit lamp post and the colorful homes served as a nice backdrop to this first snow of the season.
Superb timeless picture!
Love the lit lamppost among the different colored homes. My first home after being married in 1958 is the dark brown one 22 State street. The small white building down a bit further used to be Mc Claines fish market. Is it still? Many happy memories in this photo.
Shhhh! Don’t say that “s” word too loudly… you might wake it up!! ???
Seriously, another beautiful scene!
