In mid-July, I headed out to the Neck as lightning struck to the north and south of Marblehead. I missed a few bolts and was waiting for the two cells to come together when the light changed and the grass seemed to glow. I decided to take a break from chasing storms at Castle Rock and enjoy the peaceful quiet of this view.

The calm before the storm, such beauty
Fooled me for a sec!! Thought it was Ireland! Great pic!
I haven’t been to Casle Rock in years. When I see your pictures it makes me home sick. But it also makes me so HAPPY to know that I grew up in the most BEAUTIFUL town in the world. Thanks for sharing these AMAZING pictures with us.
Grew up just minutes from Castle Rock….lots of memories !!
I have a bazillion pictures of me and my boys climbing all over that rock. I will go seek them out. I was a passable photographer then, so it may well be worth it. And my boys were quite adorable. Andrew, Drew as we called him then, and Nathaniel, about as musical a man’s name as exists in English. As far as I know he still goes by that. All of the contractions of that name aren’t worthy of the history around Marblehead. Fun times.
I see several people thought it looked like Ireland,Although I have never been there ,many movies I have seen have looked like this. This is an angle I have never seen before. It is a spectacular view!
Looks like Ireland … ???
Beautiful, reminds me of pictures of Ireland.
