After nine years of capturing images of Marblehead, I had yet to find a good angle for a shot of the Marblehead Yacht Club. When I finished taking shots of the harbor on Sunday night, I turned to find this scene before me. I’m not sure if it was the low tide, the flag flying in the breeze or the light behind the club, but the combination of those and the launch boat made me grab for the camera and capture this shot.
You can make out some patrons enjoying dinner on this unofficial last weekend of summer.
Great picture of the best oldest yacht club.
This was “OUR” yacht club.Simple, useful, and while not GRAND like the Boston or Corinthian,it was comprised of the real old time Marbleheaders like us .Great group of people. Thanks for capturing another of my memories. You managed to capture the entire essence of the club.A great photo!
Perfect!
One of my favorite places on earth…sitting on the upper patio with my family was the setting for some of my most cherished memories – thank you for sharing!
Nice photo! It’s a great club! ?
Great shot of the club.
Great shot. This was our yacht club. I didn’t think there was a subject in town that you haven’t photographed
I have lots of find memories at the myc. My dad was an active member for years. We had a small outboard.
RIP Dick Carvill. One of my favorite places. We sailed the Random Wind out of MYC for years. ????
