This was my favorite outing of the 2020. On June 24th, I headed to Devereux Beach and the causeway chasing the tail end of a rainstorm at sunset to find an incredibly vibrant rainbow and then a sunset that exploded in light and color lasting almost 30 minutes before it was done. I have many favorite images from this evening but I kept going back to this one of peak color in the sky creating a gold coast from the sands of Devereux.

For the perfect color in the clouds, the reflections in the sand, that small wave coming to shore and a seagull in the sky all coming together to capture the warmth and freedom of a day at the beach, this is my favorite image of Marblehead taking in 2020.

2020 was tough and the world won’t magically change as the clock strikes midnight. But hopefully things will get better in the months to come.
