I received an email a few weeks ago asking me if I might be able to secretly capture a proposal at Castle Rock. I immediately explained that wasn’t something I had done previously and wasn’t sure I was the best fit but was convinced otherwise.
As luck would have it, the weather was perfect and I set up early to explore angles and options. It was my first time flying the drone in months and I don’t think I had flown it over Castle Rock in at least a year (or two).
I couldn’t resist a few landscape shots before the couple arrived including this one captured as a seagull was flying by Castle Rock with the ocean breaking around the rock face and boats in the distance. If you look closely, you can just make out Marblehead Light poking through the canopy of trees.
The proposal went perfectly and I was able to capture photos and video with the now-fiance none-the-wiser. Not something I plan to repeat but it was heart warming to be a part of that moment in a young couples’ life.
If you missed last night’s story, I will be participating in the Fall Fair at the Lee Mansion on Saturday, October 1st from 10am-2pm. Hope to see you there!
