Some sunsets have to be seen to be believed and this image serves as the perfect cliffhanger to end the week as it foreshadows the insane shot that made it to #5 on my Top 10 of 2022 list.
On June 27th, a rain storm passed over Marblehead and I raced to Devereux Beach in the hopes of capturing a rainbow. While I could envision a rainbow and maybe some nice color in the sky, what I experienced blew away any preconceived notions. The sky was simply insane that night and I hope some of you were outside to witness it. This is actually the far more believable shot and I almost kept the other one out as I still fight with wanting to ‘fix’ the colors that seem too impossible to be real.
For this shot, I was thankful to have swapped to my widest lens and made sure to capture not only the Neck Run Cafe but also the play structure to give some balance to the wild orange glow in the evening sky.
The countdown will continue on Monday and try to keep this shot in mind when you see the next one.
Also, keep an eye out for a piece on Fox about Glover’s Regiment that should go live any day now and features an image of mine to complement the story.
