As I was finalizing my image choices for this year’s Marblehead Calendar, I struggled with the options I had to best represent August. I had an image of the causeway and Devereux Beach in mind but it didn’t quite fit with this year’s theme. With that in mind, I decided to head out on Sunday to capture the last light on a full harbor.
I launched the drone from Crocker Park having arrived as the sun was beginning to set. The angle of the sun continued to shine light on nearly all of Marblehead Harbor as well as the Neck showing off the beauty of our unique protected harbor. A harbor filled with boats just about screams out ‘August in Marblehead’ and I knew I had my shot for the calendar as soon as I captured this one.
I am double checking dates and then will send the images to my printer for a hard copy proof. Calendars should be ready right around September 1st.
