I mentioned in Monday’s post of the sunset off the Village Street dock that we had just returned from a boat ride around Marblehead Harbor. This image of the Corinthian Yacht Club and Marblehead Light was captured towards the end of that circumnavigation.
I hadn’t approached the CYC from this angle before and marveled at the proximity of the lighthouse on Chandler Hovey Park to the facade of the yacht club. As luck would have it, two of the club’s launches were parked with one showing the CYC name on its rear. It was a Friday night in mid-July so the place was filled with people enjoying a warm summer evening on the balcony.
There is one boat clearly visible with the name American Pie. I tried to come up with an appropriate quote from that movie to use as the title but failed to find anything that would be safe to use. It was eye opening to see that the movie came out exactly 20 years ago – I feel old now.
