sunset after blizzard

If there’s one thing you can count on with a good storm, it’s that a solid sunset/sunrise will usually follow.  So as the Blizzard of 2013 (Nemo to some) finished dumping 20+ inches of snow and as the driving ban finally expired at 4pm, I took off to shoot the after effects.  I started off in Old Town and spent some time up and down Washington Street and walking out to Crocker Park, back through State Street…  It was quite a trek.  As I made my way back from State Street, I noted the light starting to take shape.  I quickly shot a few more scenes in Old Town and then drove out to the Neck.

Once over the causeway, I stopped at the first spot I could and photographed a great scene of lobster traps brought on shore by the storm.  The light really got good then and I ran back to the small rest area on the Neck side of the Causeway.  I took a number of images from different compositions and expect I’ll be sharing many of those in the days and weeks to come.  This one stood out as I quickly scanned the images on returning home.

The bench invites you to sit and take in the scene before you with the ocean waves and mist coming off of them, the Boston skyline in the distance and the great colors above.  Hope you enjoy the first of many images from the Blizzard of 2013.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
