I mentioned in yesterday’s post of the Beaver Moon rising over Marblehead Harbor that I had arrived a bit early at the Boston Yacht Club and was keeping myself busy while waiting for the moon to rise by photographing other elements in the harbor.  I found this lone sailboat named Persephone surrounded by empty moorings and I couldn’t help but capture the boat under the soft light of sunset with houses on Marblehead Neck in the distance.

As my son is currently obsessed with Greek mythology thanks to the Percy Jackson series, the story of Persephone was well known to me and it seemed somehow fitting that the Queen of the Underworld would remain in harbor surrounded by empty moorings…
