The past few weeks have been filled with a dizzying array of emotions – from joy to stress, exhaustion to exhilaration, and finally gratitude. The book is now firmly on the road to being made and it’s time to get back to our regularly scheduled programming…
I struggled with the choice of an image for today. As beautiful as snow can be, I am just so tired of this long, cold winter. I thought about bringing out a spring or summer image but that felt almost cruel – holding out hope of warmth as the weather reports predict more cold and snow to come. I figured I would at least try to bring out some beauty that can be found even on the coldest of days.
So here is an image taken at dawn from Castle Rock on the morning of February 19. I shared an image of the sunrise from this shoot previously but this is the image I captured as soon as I walked down the path to Castle Rock. The scene before me with a brilliant dawn sky and the rock wall leading to the large rock face of Castle Rock was mesmerizing. I thought I might have found fresh fallen snow as the storm had only finished the night before but, as you can see, many others had come through to witness the quiet beauty of Castle Rock.
Hope this image gets your day off to a nice start.
