On Thanksgiving morning, the conditions seemed right for a dawn/sunrise shoot and so I woke up early and headed down to the State Street landing area.  I ended up walking to the end of Ferry Lane and set up to capture the sunrise in front of the Harbormaster office.

I began shooting four lobster boats lined up in front of Marblehead Neck and the lighthouse with great clouds reflecting the morning light.  As the light built, I turned toward the causeway and composed this image with a single boat.  The light was beautiful at this point in the morning and I was thrilled with the  image as soon as I saw it on the camera’s rear lcd.

It was only when I returned home and began working on the image that I zoomed in and noted the name of this boat – First Lite.
