When I first spotted this little dinghy in Little Harbor with a Christmas tree in it, I knew I had to find a way to capture this perfect representation of a Marblehead Christmas.  I scouted out the location and decided that I really needed snow and/or lights on the tree and Marblehead Light in the distance to complete the scene.

As luck would have it, we received some ocean-effect snow flurries on Saturday, December 20th and I rushed out to Little Harbor.  Unfortunately, the lights in the tree had shorted during a recent storm and those on Marblehead Light seem to be out of commission this year.

I reached out to Stephanie and Tom from First Harbor who own the boat who were able to get the lights up and running again on Sunday.  With that, I headed down again hoping against hope for some better flurries.  Just as the green light came on at Marblehead Light in the background, flurries began (this time bigger and slower).  I decided to use a wide open aperture to isolate the small boat and its Christmas tree with Marblehead Light in the background to complete the view of a Marblehead Christmas.
