Each year on Thanksgiving, I give thanks for the support of those who see and interact with my images on my website and various social media locations. I started Wednesdays in Marblehead in August 2010 as a personal project to learn more about my new town. I still remember those early days when I would post an image to the website and wonder if anyone would ever see it. After five years and over 1,000 images shared, I’m humbled that so many have connected with these photos of Marblehead and the beauty to be found in a span of 4.4 square miles.
Though numbers do not tell much of the story, it is still fascinating to compare where the site is compared to last year. In 2014, I noted that since this site began, 45,000 people had visited and looked at over 170,000 pages. The Facebook page was followed by over 2,800 people. Now, in 2015, the number of visitors has nearly doubled to 98,856 who looked at over 400,000 pages! The Facebook page has been a bit slower to grow at 3,438 people but I did start an Instagram page only 4 months ago which is quickly approaching 500 followers.
In 2014, I extended a personal thank you to the 271 people who backed my Wednesdays in Marblehead book and made it a reality. In 2015, I need to thank every single person who purchased the book and sold out the first printing of 1,500 copies in less than a year! The second printing came out just as nice as the first and has been doing very well in stores throughout town.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me through comments, likes, emails and by purchasing a book, calendar or print over these past 5 years. I never imagined the road this small project would lead me on and am very thankful to all those whom I have met along the way.
