Conditions were perfect for last night’s full Hunter moonrise and were predicted to be equally good for the moonset this morning.  I woke at 6, walked the dog, and then headed out to Chandler Hovey Park where I had plotted the moonset to occur just behind the Old North Church.

It took a little while to find the perfect spot from which to capture this image of the Hunter moon setting over Old North Church.  There are still just enough boats in the harbor that finding a clean angle without masts in the frame can be a bit tricky.  This was the peak of the supermoon (the moon’s proximity to Earth makes it appear slightly larger than usual).  Shortly after this shot, the full moon disappeared into the haze at the horizon.
