Continuing with the week’s theme of Marblehead’s causeway, I happened upon this image captured in May 2012 and stared at it for several minutes trying to remember where I took it and how I ended up with such a mixed up view.

On this foggy day, all familiar landmarks were removed from an otherwise familiar scene and that, combined with the low tide and floats barely visible in the harbor, left me a bit turned around when I looked at this image.  It came to me eventually that this was taken while standing on the harbor side just over Riverhead Beach.

Still, something about this scene holds my gaze for longer than I expected.  I wonder if anyone else will feel as ‘mixed up’ as I first did on revisiting this image.
