We were away last week during the school vacation having decided to drive down to Washington, DC and explore the city where we lived for several years before moving to Marblehead.  As we drove down, the trees filled in and flowers began to appear on trees.  DC itself was in full Spring bloom and pollen literally caked our car within a few days.

On our return, I drove around town looking for signs of Spring in Marblehead.  I was disappointed to find my favorite patch of cherry blossoms had not started to bloom but found this tree along Washington Street as I made my way out of historic downtown.

I’ve captured this tree before and decided to explore a different vantage point this time by flying my Phantom 4 Pro as close as I could to the blossoms.  I composed this image to include the curve of Washington Street as it headed up the hill toward Abbot Hall and lucked out with decent light on the blossoms and some texture in the cloud filled sky.

If you see any more cherry blossoms around town, please let me know.
