On August 6th, I had gone out with a particular photo in mind and was thrilled when I was able to realize it from my vantage point over Crocker Park. As the last light faded over the harbor, I turned to walk back to the car and had actually made it all the way inside before I saw pink clouds erupt overhead. I quickly jumped back out of the car, swapped batteries on the Phantom 4 Pro and took off again.
This time, I stayed close to my car parked along Washington Street and found that Abbot Hall was perfectly situated to capture the subtle pinks reflecting on the clouds to the west. As it happened, the streets were quiet with few cars and no pedestrians and it didn’t take long to get into position for this image of Abbot Hall bathed in the last light of day. I purposely hovered just low enough to allow Abbot Hall tower to break through the horizon line where you can make out the distinctive Boston skyline in the distance.
I might have to save this one for the August 2019 image in next year’s calendar…
