I mentioned yesterday that I had walked along the causeway to find the right spot from which to capture the perfect blue sky over Marblehead Harbor. Having done so, I crossed to the other side and walked atop the causeway wall looking for interesting compositions before me.
Devereux Beach was packed with people and I walked closer to find a nice shot of silhouettes against the bright light of day. As it happened, clouds passed overhead blocking the sun and I had to stay in one spot while waiting for better light. As I did, I looked down and watched as waves came ashore. I took this image as the sun poked out of the clouds of a perfect gentle wave crossing the sand giving a feeling of the ocean beckoning at Devereux Beach.
Have walked that wall so many times in younger days. Love my home town.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the composition!Capturing the brilliant red of the rocks against the lacy looking water, almost like a brides veil!
So many years later, and I know those rocks like old friends. Perfect photo, again! Thank you!!!
You can almost hear the water and smell the salt air. I do miss Marblehead. I always love looking at your pictures. I feel as tho I am back HOME! Thanks
I love the glisten of rocks wet by the waves!
Gorgeous color!
Delightful! When I lived in Marblehead, I loved to walk on Devereux Beach and collect a few of the colorful pebbles and stones whose color had been intensified by the waves washing over them. One environmentally concerned friend took some for her rock garden and later returned them so as not to deplete the beach.
Stunning!
