Last night, I headed out just before sunset on a bit of a hunch and with a particular destination in mind.  I had met someone recently who inquired about my shooting from her home of 24 years that they had recently sold.  After discussing a bit about the property, I promised I would do my best to capture an image with which to remember this house with a view of Marblehead Harbor.

I ended up shooting a few scenes from the cupola of her home while we talked and kept my eye on a particular cloud that shifted just out of view of the house but started to pick up the colors of sunset.  With views from the cupolas exhausted, I packed up and raced towards the causeway as the sunset hit its peak with this large pink sky opening up before me.

I had just enough time to set my tripod down and capture a few frames of the pink sky over Riverhead Beach and the causeway before the light began to fade.  I have yet to process any images from the cupola but was glad to have headed out on this night to help someone remember their longtime home and come away with a nice Summer sunset (having missed the chance to shoot Friday night’s explosion of color).
