I can’t help but return to the view of golden fog which descended on Marblehead on July 5th.  I’ve shared several images from this evening  already and remarked on how the fog kept shifting as did the light to create entirely new scenes from this familiar spot.

As the fog began to thicken, I composed this image including Marblehead’s simple skyline and homes along the harbor with boats filling the water.  The fog created a painterly effect that was incredible to behold then and now.

Just the other night, fog again rolled into town near sunset and, again, I ventured out to capture it.  This time there was no hint of golden fog but rather a thick boring grey mess that made me even more thankful for the perfect conditions which created the scene above.
