On Monday, I shared an image of the sunset over Marblehead Neck and mentioned having chased another sunset a couple of days before.  On Friday, September 8, the sky seemed to hold promise with a buildup of thin clouds overhead and a break at the horizon which promised some nice light to reflect off the high clouds.  I decided to head out to the Neck and brought both drone and camera with me.

I ended up at the pier of the Pleon Yacht Club and shot with both camera and drone as the sun set and the colors took hold of the September sky.  As the pinks began to show, I found my spot less than ideal and quickly focused on flying the Phantom 4 pro to a more mid-harbor spot from which I could capture the best color behind Abbot Hall.

With the drone, I found it easy to default to a super high view looking down on the town and have tried to focus instead on shooting from 10-25 feet above the ground (or water) for a more intimate feel of the final image.  With the drone hovering fairly low, one can better appreciate the details in the boats moored in the harbor and take in the beauty of this late Summer sunset.
