It still amazes me that Gerry island can appear so isolated at high tide and yet twice a day, as if by magic, a road appears linking us with this small island in Little Harbor.  This image was taken on April 3rd after a sunrise shoot that took place at Hammond Park.  The sun seemed to take forever to rise and I took advantage by driving over to Doaks Lane after finishing my shooting at the park.

For this image, I decided to include a good deal of water in the foreground to highlight the isolation of the island but also to capture a bit of reflected light.

How this image was created:

This one was fairly straightforward having started with great light.  I did all of the adjustments in Lightroom – pulling down highlights, pushing up the shadows a bit; adjusting the tone curve to bring out a bit more contrast to the clouds near the horizon.
