Day 4 of this week’s posts all coming from the same foggy morning in Marblehead.  I mentioned before that these images were taken on September 11th which ended up being a 90 degree day and I headed out that morning at dawn hoping for a good sunrise.  As you saw in the posts earlier this week, both dawn and the sunrise were worth the few hours lost sleep.

As the sun rose, the fog actually increased (rather than burning off as I expected).  At this point, I began to look for compositions with boats against the rising fog.  There is something about seeing these sailboats without a clear horizon in view that makes for a beautiful and tranquil scene.  This particular image with one mast listing a bit added just the right amount of whimsy to the scene.  The name comes from the most prominent boat in the group named Lucky
