On the first Wednesday in August, I remember the sky seemed to hold promise for a solid sunset and prompted me to chase the light onto the Neck. As I crossed over the causeway and checked my rearview mirror, I saw these great sun rays pour down over Devereux beach. I pulled over on Ocean Avenue at the private beach and quickly shot the scene from the sidewalk. I love the fleeting nature of these rays (which were gone within 5 minutes of my grabbing the camera) and the way they add drama to an otherwise calm scene. You can just make out the hint of reflected light on the house to the right as well.
