I shared the story of how I came to photograph this view from a home on Ocean Avenue previously but have a few favorites from this dawn photoshoot so thought I would share another today. Click here to read the backstory – LINK
Whenever I shoot a scene, I always evaluate a number of different compositions. The previous image was a ‘straight’ shot which was all I had time for as the light quickly started to fade. After grabbing that image, I slowed down and explored other possiblities. In this one, I decided to use the curve of the beach to draw the eye up and around until it hit Tinkers Island in the background. There is still great light in the sky and at the horizon which made this my second favorite image of the outing.
How can I get a better look at ‘Walking Home From Brown’s Island’? The tiny image on my computer isn’t big enough to get a sense of it. I’m looking for photos of Brown’s alias Crowinshield island suitable for framing as a wedding gift for someone who spent much of his childhood roaming that island. He later proposed to his future wife there (just in time to make it back to dry land before the tide came in). I’d be grateful for any help. Thanks, Elaine
