As I mentioned in Monday’s post, I had been feeling the urge to go out and shoot a landscape image on Saturday when I looked out the window and saw these great clouds forming at 7pm.  With the taciturn approval of my wife, I grabbed my gear and ran out of the house.

My first stop was one of my favorite public ways – Parker Avenue.  I have shot a number of sunset images from the top of the stair leading to Marblehead harbor below and am pleasantly surprised with each outing here being different than the last.

On this day, I was thrilled to see the change in Marblehead harbor with a number of boats having filled in the once empty moorings.  I set about looking for compositions and deciding on the placement of Abbot Hall in relation to the water and sky.  This was my favorite image and I captured it immediately before I turned and ran to the car on my way to get the sunset image I shared on Monday.
