We just had our first sub-30 degree morning and the sunsets now take place at 4:30pm. The first few days after daylight savings time ends are always the toughest and, as I looked for an image to share, my eyes fell upon this scene of Marblehead harbor.
Taken on July 24th, I had headed across to Marblehead Neck to photograph the start of Junior Race Week. There was little wind to work with so the one-maned optis were starting to bunch together and, while that may have been frustrating to the young sailors, it made for fantastic photo opportunities. I took turns capturing scenes with Abbot Hall and, as here, Marblehead Lighthouse in the background. This image with the sun shining just seemed to be a perfect way to help offset the cold days and dark early nights of November.
