I have wanted to capture the classic New England scene of a canopy of trees contrasted with fresh fallen snow for years now. I had spotted this great tree lined street only blocks from my house on Glendale Road several years ago but the conditions hadn’t come together until the snowfall of February 5th.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, the snow was falling too heavily during the day to properly capture these scenes and so I had gone out early the morning of Thursday, February 6. I started off at Fort Sewall and was coming home when I glanced to my left while on Humphrey Street and saw this magical scene before me.

I tried a few different compositions (some horizontal, this one vertical) until I found the right balance in the scene. Took a few years but hopefully it was worth the wait.
