Marblehead Festival of Arts 2015
People’s Choice Award Winner

During the Summer of 2014, scaffolding went up around St. Michaels’ Church as a new steeple was raised on the building.  I managed to make my way to the top of the scaffolding one August evening with the help of a friend and found this incredible view before me.

I was struck by the row of houses along Hooper Street near Bank Square and the proximity of Marblehead Harbor (still filled with boats) as well the nearness of Marblehead Neck and the causeway.

This view only existed for the briefest moments in time as the scaffolding came down a few days later.  I feel fortunate to have been able to capture and share this once-in-a-lifetime view of historic downtown Marblehead from a (temporary) rooftop.
