This image of a calm dawn over Marblehead Harbor comes from the morning of March 8, 2015. I had woken up early on this day despite the overnight change to daylight savings time and decided to take advantage of the situation by heading to Marblehead Harbor for a photo shoot.
I was surprised by the absolute calm of the water as well as the sudden humidity that gave the impression of Spring on the horizon (even with several feet of snow still piled around town).
This image comes from the peak of the morning’s colors before the sun rose. The calm water was broken by small ripples that served to break up the otherwise mirror-like reflection of dawn’s colors in Marblehead Harbor.
