On Tuesday, August 4th, I headed out at sunset with the hope of nice clouds and good color. As I drove across the causeway, I thought the clouds offered the best photo opportunity from Parker Lane – one of the public ways on Marblehead Neck. I pulled in and found the tide to be quite low as I descended to the small beach.
For the first time, I noted that there was a rock formation at the water’s edge that would allow me a closer view of the boats filling Marblehead harbor at this time of year. I carefully climbed the rock trying to use barnacles for traction and avoid the slippery seaweed. The effort was worth it as I was afforded this unique vantage point from a slightly raised viewpoint and a lot closer to the boats in the harbor than I was used to.
I ended up being right about the sunset but wrong about the location, I’ll share the view of an incredible purple sunset at Castle Rock next week…
