I mentioned in Tuesday’s post that Glover’s regiment set about re-enacting George Washington crossing the Delaware river after the Christmas Walk parade concluded.  I set off for State Street Landing to capture the scene but quickly moved away from the crowd for this spot down near the harbormaster’s pier.  I had realized there was no way to capture Glover’s Regiment crossing Marblehead harbor without modern boats visible from the State Street Landing.  This location afforded just that view.

I waited as the regiment boarded and then made their way out to mid-harbor.  There I was able to capture them with Marblehead Light in the distance mimicking the view from hundreds of years ago…that is except for the modern moorings and that one boat that started coming into harbor at just the wrong time.
