In early June 2013, I had gone out near sunset and quite literally chased this small cloud from the house across the causeway and onto Marblehead Neck. I had recently delivered a print to a house overlooking Castle Rock and made a quick call on my way to see if I could shoot from a spot I had eyed the day before.
As luck would have it, the cloud floated into a perfect spot and both it and the outcropping known as Castle Rock began to reflect the last light of sunset just as I set up my tripod. I took one wider shot of the castle that abuts this spot but then recomposed to photograph the cloud above bathed in golden light and the same light reflecting off the rocks below. The islands off Marblehead were lined up in perfect spots to break up the otherwise vast ocean beyond.
