Not one to leave well enough alone, I set my alarm for 4am on Saturday morning hoping for another opportunity to capture the comet Neowise. I wasn’t quite sure where it might be in the pre-dawn sky so I pulled over at Riverhead beach and used the app to locate it. Unfortunately, the comet was too close to the horizon to be photographed and I was quickly gaining light and losing the chance to shoot the equivalent of a star in the early morning sky.

With a camera in hand and this scene before me, I couldn’t let the opportunity to pass and captured this quick shot of a calm Marblehead harbor reflecting the colors of dawn. My favorite part of the image? The single lit window in the house on the Neck just to the right of the lighthouse signaling an early riser on this Saturday morning.
