Back from a week’s staycation with this shot from that mid-August outing which featured the most varied light conditions I’ve seen in some time. From the same evening in which I captured the ominous sky over the causeway and Tinkers as well as the rainbow at Castle Rock and the vibrant sunset from the Pleon, I also found this scene of Marblehead Neck and Chandler Hovey Park bathing in light from the setting sun.  This was a surprisingly tough shot to capture and process with the sunlight on the Neck so bright and yellow that it seemed fake even while standing out there gaping at it.  I decided to turn down the yellow a bit when post-processing to make the final image a bit more natural looking (even though it really wasn’t this tame in real life).
