I hoped to have new landscapes or seascapes to share by now but, while I’ve had weekly photography outings in the past month and a half, they have been solely to capture my son and his teammates on the Marblehead Magician’s freshman football team. Those moments have been a lot of fun to capture but I’ve been looking for opportunities to shoot new scenes of this town as well. I’m hoping to capture some blossoms as early as this Wednesday so stay tuned…

In the meantime, here is one of my few new images from the winter that wasn’t normal by any measure. With COVID restrictions and hardly any snowfall, I found the outings few and very far between. on January 31, 2021, I lucked out with a soft sunset and this spot at Castle Rock. I had gone to capture the iced water at the high tide mark and shared that image shortly after capturing it from the shores of the beach below. This photo was taken a few minutes earlier when the sunset light was a bit brighter and the whole scene could be taken in.

I’m not sure which color of water I like best – the turquoise-like shade on the left or the golden one peeking on the right.
