After the rain departed on Saturday, October 11, I decided to head out in hopes of capturing a few lingering clouds and some scenes of foliage around town. On an earlier venture, I had noticed that the Marblehead harborfront (not sure if that is an official name for the area depicted here) was showing signs of Fall colors. I made my way across the causeway to the public way at Parker Lane to see if the colors had indeed ‘popped’ in the interim.
While there were some hints of orange and yellow in the trees, I was more intrigued by the new addition to Marblehead’s skyline – St. Michael’s steeple. I composed this image to include Abbot Hall (with it’s scaffolding still in place), St. Michael’s Church and the Grace Community Church steeples with a great number of boats still moored in Marblehead harbor. The homes and yacht club along Front Street seem to be packed in together from this vantage point forming the Marblehead harborfront.
